In an atmosphere of camaraderie, good food and fun, this monthly meeting’s purpose is to help support each other with all of life’s trials and celebrations, meet new people, improve our professional skills and fulfill our desire of spreading the joy of music to the world!
&
This group was formed based on the inspiration by what Jennifer Silk witnessed at the many GFWC clubs that she performed at.  She was so impressed with all of the camaraderie, service and philanthropy that she wanted desperately for a club that she could belong to.

Some of the highlights of the club:
Programs Presented
Computer skills, emergency preparedness and personal safety, personal grooming (make-up & hair for being on stage), numerology, nutrition, how to prepare spiritually for any musical performance, scrap booking, what to charge for lessons, and writing contracts, etc.

Networking
You have heard of the six degrees of separation?  In the music world it is more like two maybe three at the most.  We have had members connect that haven’t seen each other since high school music camp.  We have had members move from other parts of the United States who are welcomed and given a chance to break into the Chicago music scene.

Musical Arrangements
Each meeting has a request for a musical arrangement.  Jennifer’s husband, Roy Vombrack is a professional orchestra leader and is the only musical director in town that writes his own arrangements.  With over twenty-five years of professional jingle writing, he contributes to the club by customizing the music to fit our needs (and at no charge!) to enhance our musical libraries.

How We Support One Another
Now instead of the gossip mill and only being able to “catch up” with each other’s lives during intermissions at our “gigs”, we are more in contact with one another, even meeting outside the meeting to connect.  One of our philanthropic projects was sending our gently used or never worn concert attire to the women musicians of New Orleans.  They were so inspired that they founded their own club, the New Orleans Women in Music!
